New Knife Amnesty Bin Installed at Slag Lane Recycling Centre, Leigh

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) has introduced a new Knife Amnesty Bin at the Recycling Centre on Slag Lane, Leigh, as part of ongoing efforts to reduce knife crime and keep communities safe.

GMP is reminding residents that there are safe and responsible ways to dispose of unwanted knives and bladed tools:

Knife Amnesty Bins: Find your nearest bin by visiting Anti-knife crime work in Wigan. Waste and recycling centres

Police Stations: Items can be handed in at any local police station.

Home Collection: Call 101 or use GMP Livechat to request a collection from your home. A Police Community Support Officer or Police Officer will attend to safely retrieve the item.

By using these channels, residents can help prevent potentially dangerous items from entering circulation and contribute to a safer community.
