Cuckooing |
||
|
We want to raise awareness about cuckooing, a serious crime that targets vulnerable people in our community. Cuckooing occurs when criminals take over someone’s home, often through intimidation or exploitation, and use it for illegal activities such as drug dealing. Victims can feel trapped and afraid to speak out, which makes it important for the community to stay alert.
You may notice signs such as a sudden increase in visitors to a property, people coming and going at unusual hours, or a resident who appears distressed or withdrawn. If you see anything that concerns you, please report it. Your information could protect someone from harm and help us disrupt criminal networks.
To report concerns, call 101 for non-emergencies or 999 if someone is in immediate danger. You can also report anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or visit www.gmp.police.uk for advice and online reporting.
If you or someone you know is at risk, reach out to your local policing team for support.
Together, we can keep Wardleworth safe.
