Black Friday and Cyber Monday Operation at Brent Cross Shopping Centre – Results

Officers from the Barnet Neighbourhoods conducted a proactive policing operation at Brent Cross Shopping Centre over the Black Friday and Cyber Monday period. The aim was to tackle crime and ensure a safe environment for shoppers and staff during one of the busiest retail weekends of the year.

Key Outcomes:

Arrests

One male arrested for going equipped to steal (screwdriver). He was subsequently deported after being found to have entered the UK illegally.

One male arrested for shoplifting from Boots (three separate thefts) and a Section 4A Public Order offence after threatening a staff member. He was charged and bailed to court.

One male arrested for shoplifting sunglasses valued at £164 from Ray-Ban. He received a custodial sentence of 16 weeks.

One male arrested for shoplifting goods worth £448 from Boots. He remains on police bail.

Community Resolutions

Two issued for cannabis possession.

Three issued for shoplifting.

Stop and Search

A total of 18 stop and searches were conducted during the operation.
