Hare coursing vehicle seized

Dear Resident,

On Tuesday 2nd December 2025, a vehicle was seized following hare coursing near to Claverley.

Bridgnorth Safer Neighbourhood Team recovered a vehicle that had become stuck in a field after being used in hare coursing. The vehicle had no insurance, no tax, and no registered keeper details, and was seized under the Hunting Act 2004.

Why is this important?
Hare coursing and poaching are illegal for several reasons:
✅ They cause unnecessary suffering to wildlife.
✅ They damage crops and farmland, impacting local communities.
✅ They often involve other criminal activity, including trespass and vehicle offences.

Our policing purpose is clear: to protect rural communities, prevent harm to wildlife, and tackle associated criminality. We work closely with landowners and partners to ensure those engaging in these activities are held accountable.
