Drink & Drug Driving |
Hi Resident,
“Tis the season not to drink or use drugs and drive Fa la la la la, la la la la.” Ok enough of my terrible singing. Enjoy the festive season but please don't drink, or use drugs, and drive as the consequences can be extreme! Policing teams see more and more drivers prosecuted for drug driving (primarily Cannabis) as some drivers believe it is okay (but it isn't). This can seriously impair driving so why risk lives (our own, other road users and pedestrians), losing a driving licence, being awarded a criminal record, and booked into a comfy night in a custody suite! More information - https://www.northants.police.uk/advice/advice-and-information/rs/road-safety/alcohol-drug-driving/ Be careful as some prescribed medication prohibits driving (always read the leaflet) and we can still be prosecuted if the medication makes us unfit to operate a vehicle and the risks increase by mixing with alcohol. Its our own responsibility, not the Doctors, to make sure we are legally fit to drive. For more information on drug driving https://www.gov.uk/drug-driving-law
Enjoy any parties/get togethers coming up and plan ahead to make sure you arrive at your destinations safely.
