Life Saving CPR |

On Thursday evening one of our PCSO's from Regents Park was on solo foot patrol on Arlington Road when he came across a male lying in the street, the male was initially unresponsive but breathing, he called for another unit and for an ambulance while keeping the male comfortable and talking to him.
A PC and PCSO from Camden Town were nearby and attended to assist, when they arrived on scene the male was no longer breathing and they therefore commenced CPR. Having requested that a unit bring them a defibrillator one of them ran to the nearby Mornington Crescent Station and borrowed theirs, all 3 officers conducted CPR for 10 minutes while they waited for an ambulance to attend.
Upon ambulance attendance the male had regained a faint pulse, the 3 officers assisted them with first aid including airway management until they administered naloxone upon which the male made a rapid recovery.
The Ambulance Service crews who attended the scene stated that the officers had definitely saved the males life.
