Dear residents, I am writing to report a distraction burglary that occurred at approximately 12:30 on 8th December at Louise Gardens, Rochdale. The occupants of the property were present when an unknown male knocked on the front door, presented a fake ID, and claimed to work for a WaterBoard company. He stated he needed to check the property. Upon entering, the male encouraged the occupants to run the kitchen taps and empty the cupboard under the sink. He then left the room for approximately two minutes, stating he would flush the toilet to check the water. During this time, it is believed the male made distraction noises to allow another unknown male to enter the property. This second male accessed a locked bedroom, ransacked it, and stole items including clothing, tobacco, and medication. Upon returning, the first male engaged in irrelevant conversation with the occupants, claiming there were burst water pipes in the area. Shortly after, he and the second male stated they were leaving to return with machinery. The occupants later noticed the males running away and discovered the locked bedroom door and wardrobe had been broken into. Descriptions of the suspects: Please report any suspicious individual's in your area. | ||
