We're putting the brakes on vehicle crime |

Hi Resident, we want to highlight some of the ways offenders take advantage of opportunities for criminal gain.
Through regular patrols and targeted operations, we’re putting the brakes on vehicle crime and locking up those responsible. While we continue working together to keep your valuables safe, here's some the ways you can help us stop criminals in their tracks. Lock it, check it An unlocked door is an easy win for those with ill intentions. Always lock your doors when leaving your car unattended, and check that windows are fully closed. Put them out of sight Leaving valuables such as phones, laptops, bags, or tools in your car can make it a target for criminals. Remove items when leaving your vehicle or keep them hidden out of sight. Protect your keys Store your car keys away from your front door. Some thefts occur when criminals hook keys through letterboxes. For keyless entry vehicles, use a signal-blocking pouch or box to prevent electronic theft. Report suspicious activity In an emergency, always call 999. Seen something? Heard Something? Report it! Your knowledge is our power. By reporting what you know, we can builder a better picture of crime in your area and take action. Visit: www.beds.police.uk/ro/report/ Do you know someone involved in criminality? Is there an address you would like to report? You can report anonymously via CrimeStoppers. It's not about who you are, but what you know. Visit: crimestoppers-uk.org or call 0800 555 111
We're working #TogetherForBedfordshire! That means collaborating with partners across the community to ensure our county remains a safe and welcome place to live, work, visit and shop. You can find out more on our website: Together For Bedfordshire | Bedfordshire Police
