New Mansion Square

While I was on foot patrol earlier I spoke to a resident of New Mansion Square about moped riders using the footpath to cut through between Sleaford Street and Thessaly Road.

This is something that we have been aware of for some time, and something that we pay attention to during our patrols – particularly in the evenings.

We cannot issue fines or report riders for summons because the path through New Mansion Square is not part of the Highway but what we have done is stop riders and issue Anti-Social Behaviour warnings to them. We also conduct checks of the rider’s driving licence and insurance and have once found an un-insured rider whose moped was then seized by my colleague.
