Winter Warnings

As the cold and frosty mornings are starting to set in, we know that is it tempting to stay in the warm but please do not leave your vehicle unattended whilst it defrosts as this is what opportunistic thieves look for! It takes seconds for someone to jump in and drive away. 

To keep your vehicle and belongings safe this festive season please follow the below safety tips: 

• Stay with your car: Always remain inside or beside the vehicle while it defrosts
• Use manual methods: Apply de-icer spray or use an ice scraper instead
• Prepare the night before: Cover your windscreen with a protector or blanket
• Never leave keys in ignition: Even on your driveway, thieves can strike

• Clear all windows fully: Ensure visibility before driving off to avoid accidents

   

It is also worth remembering if your car is stolen when keys have been left in it, you may find your insurance will not cover you. If your house keys are stolen along with your car, your home is then vulnerable too.

So, this winter, don’t give criminals an easy ride by leaving your car running unattended.
