Unfolded mirrors may signal an unlocked car to thieves.
What’s been happening? Good news –
This week we arrested a prolific shoplifter for yet another shop theft in Castle Bromwich. He was also wanted for failing to attend an initial assessment after he was found to have cocaine and opiates in his system the last time he was in custody (which was also for shop theft). He has been charged for both offences and now must spend his Christmas Eve at court.
Yesterday we had another busy day. Our Sergeant joined members of the Violence Reduction Partnership on the Solihull Youth Bus, aiming to engage with the local community in Smiths Wood about their work. There were also selection boxes available for those who engaged.
Meanwhile other members of the team seized two vehicles. One was a van stolen back in May that was left abandoned in our area. Luckily, members of the public reported it to us. We then saw a car driving in Castle Bromwich and after stopping it we quickly realised the driver was a provisional licence holder without adequate supervision. The car was seized, and he will be reported - not a great way for him to start out as a young driver.
Finally, we interviewed a male for making threats of serious harm over a phone call and then driving to that person's location whilst disqualified. He has been charged with disqualified driving and the investigation into the threats is ongoing.
