I wanted to provide you an update regarding Personal theft (e.g. pick pocketing, no violence used), which some members around this area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the Met Engage priority survey. Dear Community Members,
As we approach the Christmas holiday period, we would like to remind residents to remain vigilant regarding personal property and parcel deliveries.
Kind regards, Alexandra GRADINARIU PCSO 7013NW Police Community Support Officer | Barnet Borough | NW - North West
Historically, the holiday season can see an increase in opportunistic theft, including parcels left unattended and items taken from front yards, vehicles, or common areas. We encourage everyone to take simple preventative steps to reduce the risk of theft during this time.
Helpful safety tips include:
* Track deliveries and collect parcels as soon as possible. * Arrange for deliveries to be left in a secure location or with a trusted neighbour. * Avoid leaving packages unattended for extended periods. * Ensure doors, windows, garages, and vehicles are locked. * Consider using motion lighting or doorbell cameras where available. * Report any suspicious activity to police.
By taking these steps, you can help protect your property and contribute to the safety of our community throughout the holiday season.
We appreciate your cooperation and wish you a safe and enjoyable Christmas and New Year.
We are working on our brand-new strategy for how we police London and we want your help. Our New Met for London: Phase 2 strategy will guide how we deliver on behalf of Londoners over the next three years. |
