The final session of the Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) self defence programme took place this week on the 17th December at Areley Kings Village Hall, marking the successful conclusion of a multi week initiative designed to empower women and girls across the Wyre Forest. Police and Crime Commissioner John Campion attended the final session to show his support and observe the training in action. This programme was delivered by the Stourport Safer Neighbourhood Police Team with funding and backing from the PCC.
The initiative has been delivered in partnership with Unite Tae-Kwon-Do instructors Kai and Sarah, with additional support from Areley Kings Village Hall and St Michael’s Church. Over recent weeks women and girls have taken part in the free sessions, contributing to the programme’s success and helping to drive forward local efforts to prevent violence against women and girls.
