Enhanced Patrols and Seasonal Burglary Prevention Measures

This week, Woodside SNT officers have intensified evening patrols at identified burglary hotspot locations. This proactive measure aligns with our commitment to reducing crime during a period when offences typically increase, particularly thefts involving delivered parcels.

Patrols have been conducted during afternoons and late-night hours, as darker evenings and the approach of the festive season present greater opportunities for criminal activity.

Residents are strongly encouraged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious behaviour without delay. Community awareness and timely reporting are essential components of our strategy to prevent burglary.

With less than a week until Christmas, we advise residents to follow these key burglary prevention measures:

Ensure all doors and windows are locked, even when you are at home.

Use timer switches for lights if you expect to return after dark.

Keep valuables out of sight and away from windows.

Secure sheds, garages, and outbuildings with robust locks.

Consider installing CCTV or video doorbell systems for added security.

Report any suspicious vehicles or individuals in your area immediately.
