South Northants NS1 Team – Deanshanger & Grange Park – November Report |
||
|
Dear Resident I hope you are well, you have been sent this message as the nominated Police Liaison representative for your Parish. I wanted to provide you with an update on what your NPT have been up to this month on the Deanshanger & Grange Park ward. Beat Bus Surgeries & Community Engagement In October there have been 24 community engagements on the NS1 ward Deanshanger and Grange Park. The highlight of this was an event alongside colleagues from Northampton Neighbourhood Team where we marked 20 items of horse tack at Blue Barn Saddlery in Hardingstone. Surgeries are a useful way to speak to local officers in person, raise any issues or concerns, and receive crime prevention advice. We advertise our community surgeries online here in advance, so you can see where we will be. We would really appreciate It if you could share our upcoming surgeries with your communities and councils to raise awareness and show where they can access support from their NPT. Officers and PCSOs from the South Northants Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) have been continuing their focus on tackling drug dealing and misuse and promoting road safety across Towcester rural communities. As part of this work, local officers and PCSOs, supported by special constables and colleagues from the dog unit and roads policing, carried out a proactive operation to tackle drug use within the night-time economy and promote road safety across the area. The team visited 13 licensed premises across the South Northants area and spoke with nearly 400 customers throughout the evening. Our conversations focused on raising awareness around drink and drug driving and explaining the purpose of the operation. This sent a clear message that drugs have no place in our pubs, and the positive response from both licensees and customers. To support this message, our team has also handed out drink and drug driving leaflets to licenced premises and to remind everyone to keep safe this festive season.
