Rubbish Disposal
Once the Christmas celebrations are over, the packaging you throw away can unintentionally advertise what’s inside your home. Boxes from new gadgets, jewellery, or high‑value gifts can attract burglars looking for easy opportunities.
To help protect your property, avoid putting packaging out early with your recycling. Break down boxes, turn them inside‑out, or cut them up to conceal brand names and expensive labels. This simple step prevents your bins from signalling new valuables in the house. If possible, store packaging out of sight until collection day, and keep bins in well‑lit or secure areas to reduce the chance of tampering. Being mindful of what you leave outside is an effective way to reduce opportunistic crime during the post‑Christmas period. 🎄 A Merry Christmas from Park Hill & Whitgift SNT 🎄
Thank you for following our 12 Days of Christmas Crime Prevention. We hope these tips help keep you, your home, and your community safe throughout the festive season.
Wishing you a safe, peaceful, and very Merry Christmas — from everyone at Park Hill & Whitgift Safer Neighbourhood Team. 🎅✨ | ||
