Here at Staffordshire Police we hope you all had a great Christmas, with the New year celebrations and festivities approaching, please consider you alcohol consumption and driving. Annually in the UK there are 290 -320 deaths in collisions where at least one driver is over the legal limit. That could be your son, your daughter, your mother or father, your brother or sister. If going out as a group, designate a driver, never risk it, don't drink and drive, the consequences can be life changing for all concerned. The amount of innocent lives taken too by drivers who have drunk alcohol is tragic. It just isn't worth it. On the same issue, drug driving can have unforeseen and tragic consequences, obviously drugs are illegal and to pair it with driving, is senseless. Enjoy your New Year and lets make it a safe one , do not drink drive, do not participate in drugs and driving, you'll regret it if you do. The legal consequences are enormous. Here's to a safe 2026.
