Theft of Motor Vehicle

Dear Resident

Between 27/12/2025 22:00hrs 28/12/2025 10:49hrs a theft of a vehicle/residential burglary occurred in Brickendon Lane, Hertford.

Between stated dates and times unknown offender/s have attended the location via an unknown means and have gained entry by smashing the glass window to a door. A Grey Saloon has been taken stolen from the drive. It is unknown at this time if there are any other items/goods missing.

Tips to prevent vehicle crime:

Ensure you lock doors and shut windows/sunroof when leaving your vehicle unattended.

Always remove keys from the ignition when you are not with the vehicle

When parking, remember to set your immobiliser or alarm or use an approved steering lock or gear lever clamp.

Never leave valuables in your vehicle – not even in the glove box or boot – and keep all possessions out of sight – even coats, sunglasses and carrier bags.

Be aware of your keys. Don’t leave them visible on a windowsill or near to your front door, where they could be “hooked” through the letterbox or a keyless signal can be received by relay devices.

If you have a keyless entry car use a signal blocking bag and consider using additional trackers, steering wheel locks or ghost immobilisers.

Store car ownership documents at home, not in your car.
