Appeal for witnesses following assault in Portsmouth

We are appealing for witnesses following a reported assault on Twyford Avenue, Portsmouth on Sunday 28 December.

During the incident, which occurred between midnight and 12.30am, a man in his 20s suffered GBH-level injuries, including a suspected fractured eye socket and bruising to the face.

A 16-year-old boy from Portsmouth was subsequently arrested on suspicion of S.18 GBH with intent. He has since been released on conditional police bail, pending further enquiries.

We are aware that two women, who were travelling in a dark-coloured vehicle, stopped to intervene during the incident. We would like to hear from them.
