Drug dealing targeted by local team |
||
|
Dear Resident
Last week, Local Safer Neighbourhood officers were on foot patrol targeting known drug dealing spots and areas high in anti-social behaviour. Using a mix of plain clothes and uniformed officers, they spotted two males who raised their suspicions in a park in Shadwell.
The males were approached and stopped using powers under s.23 of the Misuse of Drugs Act. During the search one of the males was found in possession of hunting knife, concealed in his waist band, as well as a quantity of cannabis wraps and liquid vials. The male was arrested for Possession of an Offensive Weapon and Possession with Intent to Supply (PWITS) Class B. The male has since been bailed and the investigation continues.
The second male was searched and given a Community Resolution for possession of a small amount of Cannabis.
We will continue to patrol these areas and use relevant policing powers to keep our local area safe. | ||
