Dear Residents This week, criminals have been calling residents in Ramsgate, Herne Bay, Hythe and Ashford impersonating police officers. They are telling residents their bank account has been compromised, their card needs replacing or even that a family member has been arrested. In some instances, they are being instructed to buy gold and told that a courier will collect it along with their card or cash. These are scams. The police will never ask for your financial details over the phone or send someone to collect your card, cash, or valuables. Watch how this scam works here. If this happens to you: ☎️ Call your bank immediately using 159 ➡️ Report it to Kent Police.
