Reducing criminality across Salford |
||
|
The Salford Central Neighbourhood Policing Team are committed to proactively dealing with and reducing criminality in your area. Recent statistics from Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) show that neighbourhood crime is down 23% in Salford, while arrests are up 18%. We are currently targeting the following areas: Ordsall, Pendleton & Charles Town, Weaste, Seedley, Claremount and Salford Quays, and are seeking the support of the community regarding information in relation to drug dealing, cannabis farms, theft and shoplifting, and anti-social behaviour. All information can be provided completely anonymously and in full confidence. There is no requirement to provide your personal or contact information and information will never be shared. We are asking for names, locations and times - essentially, the who, what, when, where and why of incidents. This information can be provided directly to Police Sergeant Atherton by email - 13490@gmp.police.uk - or online via LiveChat. Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
Drug dealing Specifically, we are trying to gather information around the use of Sur-Ron bikes to transport and deal drugs. Cannabis Farms There are countless suspected cannabis farms around Salford, and they may be in residential properties in your local area. Theft / shoplifting Tens of thousands of pounds worth of products are shoplifted from retail stores in the Salford area. These products are then sold in the local area, and the profits feed back into organised crime. Anti-social behaviour Anti-social behaviour (ASB) can be perceived in many forms, such as youths causing issues and committing low level crime in the area, anti-social drinking / drug use or even persistent drug dealing.
We are asking the community to report these incidents and provide as much information as possible. Your intelligence can help us build a clearer picture and make Salford a safer place for those who live and work in the area.
Thank you for your co-operation.
