Lowestoft - attempted robbery of bicycle |
||
|
Police are appealing for witnesses and information following report of an attempted robbery in Lowestoft.
The incident took place at some point between 6pm and 6:45pm on Wednesday 7 January, in the green space between Rotterdam Road and Evergreen Road.
A teenage boy was riding his bicycle when he was reportedly approached by two unknown males on a dirt bike. It was reported that one of the males has then pulled out a knife from the pocket of his dark joggers and demanded the boy give them his bicycle.
The teenage boy was able to cycle away via Rotterdam Road, unharmed, with the suspects initially pursuing him.
It was reported that a short time before the incident there had been a group of approximately six males in the green space area, standing next to a dirt bike; all of whom were wearing black balaclavas. It is believed they entered the park from the direction of the cycle path near Evergreen Road.
Police have been conducting patrols in the area, and continue to conduct enquiries relating to this incident and of other antisocial behaviour and activity in the area.
Police would like to hear from anyone with information relating to the incident and from those who may know the identities of the males with the dirt bike.
