Dearest gentle reader,
✅ Good News from Your Local Policing Team ✅
This week the Bordelsey Green Neighbourhood team have partaken in successful operations, community engagements, made arrests and stop and searched individuals involved in drug related crimes.
On Saturday 10th January 2026, the weather was horrendous and therefore this meant that the road surface was Icey and slippery meaning that road traffic collisions were on the rise. Officers from our team contacted the designated council highways team, to clear some of the ice on the slipperiest of roads. On the same day routine patrols in the local hotspots were carried out, it seemed as though PC SNOW kept most of the troublemakers off the streets. West Midlands Police Officers also found and recovered a stolen/cloned vehicle in our area; this was secured and seized.
On Sunday 11th January 2026, officers checked in with the residents of a certain road whereby parking issues are prevalent. The vehicles were then removed the following day, once officers were available to do so.
On Monday 12th January 2026, whilst officers were patrolling around our area on foot, a male was spotted driving whilst on his mobile phone. Officers approached him and began to engage with the male to give him a ticket for committing a moving traffic offence. A foot chase commenced and the male was eventually detained by Sgt Allen. His vehicle was searched and a significant amount of Class A and Class B drugs were recovered from within. The male was arrested from drug related offences and was also reported for driving without a license, insurance and driving whilst on their mobile phone. A second male was also arrested in relation to the same incident shortly after.
On Tuesday 13th January 2026, routine patrols were conducted around are residential areas. Officers on our team helped solve multiple on-going investigations to achieve positive results and dealt with offenders of crime. School patrols were conducted at the end of the school day, to ensure that our children were safe when walking in the area.
On Wednesday 14th January 2026, officers attended an area on our patch whereby joint visits with the local council and anti-social behaviour teams are being formed to put an end to an increase in ASB in the that particular problem area. Whilst officers were in the area, they spoke to young males who had been identified as potentially being part of the local issues. The vehicle they were sat in smelt of a controlled drug, both the driver and passenger were stopped and searched. A significant amount of cannabis was recovered and the male in question and he was reported for the offence. Details were obtained and the team will continue to conduct high-visibility targeted patrols in the area. Two of our officers were also deployed to Operation Skybridge to assist our colleagues over at Shard End NPT with their fight against drug and vehicle crimes.
On Thursday 15th January 2026, our officers conducted school patrols at the end of the school day, to ensure that our children were safe when walking in the area. Our officers patrolled the Coventry Road with council parking enforcement officers and tickets were handed out to poorly parked vehicles, between Asda and Birmingham City Football Club. Some of our officers helped our Washwood Heath Neighbourhood officers by attending a joint meeting with the local councillors and residents of Alum Rock. The information provided to us has been passed on to the relevant police team to take swift action.
The action that we have taken this week has been supported by residents, it is something that we have been doing and will be continuing to do. Working with partnering agencies to try and prevent crimes before they become issues across our area is something that we truly believe to be a powerful tool in preventing crime. Once issues are reported to us, we will continue to act against those involved, ensuring that our residents are safe.
