🚲 Electric bike safety warning 🚲

Over the past few weeks, officers have seized a number of electric bikes that were found to be illegal. One particularly concerning case involved a standard bicycle that had been converted into an electric bike by fitting a battery pack and exposed wiring.

The wiring on this bike was not properly covered, creating a serious safety risk. If the exposed wires came into contact with water, the rider could have received an electric shock, potentially leading to serious or life‑changing injuries.

We would like to remind everyone to be cautious when purchasing electric bikes. Some bikes may not meet legal requirements, and others may be unsafe if they have been poorly modified.
