📣 You Said, We Did – Speed Enforcement Update

This afternoon, the South Wye Safer Neighbourhood Team carried out speed checks in the following areas:

📍 The Straight Mile, Rotherwas – Average speed: 25mph
📍 Home Lacy – Average speed: 25mph
📍 Old Callow Road – Average speed: 36mph
📍 Kingstone – Average speed: 21mph

While out conducting these checks, a number of members of the public stopped to comment — including some who suggested that these operations are a waste of time.

We want to be clear: speed checks are far from a waste of time. Speeding is illegal, and enforcing speed limits helps prevent accidents and saves lives. Those who choose to exceed the speed limit risk fines, penalty points, or even losing their licence.

Our priority is keeping the community safe, and we will continue to carry out these checks where concerns are raised.
