In case you missed it …
On Friday evening response officers attended a report of an RTC in Earlswood, outside Hickorys Smokehouse. Besides the smell from the smokehouse and the smoking cars from the collision, officers became suspicious that a male at the scene may have been smoking something he shouldn't.
The male was denying being the driver of the vehicle, however, due to some good investigative work by officers and information from witnesses, it was established that the male was indeed driving the vehicle and was arrested on suspicion of driving whilst under influence of drink or drugs.
Additionally, a female was also arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice, but there was more…
From information from witnesses at the scene and police officer professional curiosity, officers conducted further searches and discovered a package hidden in bushes nearby to the RTC. It contained a quantity of drugs and cash. The male was further arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A and B drugs.
A big well done to those officers helping to keep our neighbourhood safe. Thankfully there were no injuries as a result of the RTC. A big thankyou also to the members of public that helped with providing information to officers at the scene, which ultimately resulted in the arrests and drugs being taken off the streets.
