Weekly update from the local team |
||
|
It has been a productive week for our team, comprising PCSO Will Brockett and PC Alex Simpson. A few of the things we have been doing this week have been hosting a Drop-In Surgery at the Yorkshire Bridge Inn, which was attended by local residents. During the event attendees raised various issues and concerns, which we addressed at the time, but additionally there were several other points raised that we will take into consideration for future action. We hold a number of surgeries each month which we advertise on both Facebook and Derbyshire Alert our free messaging service, our next one is at Hope main car park this Monday at 11am. On Wednesday, PCSO Brockett attended the monthly Castleton Community Café, an event well ran by local volunteers. This gathering provides an invaluable opportunity for residents, particularly those in the older demographic who may experience isolation, to come together and connect. On Thursday, PC Simpson responded to a report concerning a van towing a trailer that had become stuck on Winnats Pass. After temporarily closing the road, he successfully facilitated the vehicle's removal. However, shortly after the road was reopened a HGV was observed coming down Winnats Pass in violation of the weight restriction, the driver was subsequently stopped and reported for the offence. As well as the above we have been also been doing speed checks at a number of locations across the Hope Valley as this is the biggest concern raised to us every month and will contiune when possible to do checks. This evening we will be patrolling the Hope Valley area (High Peak side) and would encourage all community members to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity. If you believe a crime is in progress or about to occur, please dial 999. For non-emergency situations, you may report by calling 101 or by visiting our online reporting portal. | ||
