Local News - 24/01

Evening all.

Well… today was different. If I can mix my metaphors, A storm brew, inside a can of worms and when opened? A tornado of trouble.

Now, before you worry, you really don't have to. This is our day to day, not yours.

So what happened?

We were doing a joint operation with the council's ASB team (Anti Social Behaviour) and local store detectives. All was going well and we were getting antsy waiting for something to happen. And oh boy did it. (Again, nothing to worry about). We actually started clocking up the shoplifters, one every 25 minutes or so. Now while we cannot go into too much detail, some were arrested, and others were given a slap on the wrist and a banning letter*.

Our team were doing their best in sorting all these suspects when one in cuffs thought to make off. Spoiler alert, he didn't get far. Off to custody with that one. Statements taken and then the PCSOs dealt with another who was thought to be also drink driving. (Update on that one when we can, but arrested).

Some more reassurance visits to top and tail it, but after I send this out, it will be back on the road.

*Banning letters upgrade the next shoplifting to burglary so significantly raises the stakes!
