👮♂️ Ward Update – Proactive Policing & Enforcement Activity 👮♀️ |
||
|
Today, officers from the ward carried out proactive patrols and enforcement activity across the area to tackle anti-social behaviour, drug-related activity, and wider criminality.
Throughout the shift, officers conducted numerous stop and searches within the Oaks Shopping Centre car park, where concerns around ASB and drug use have been regularly reported. These searches were carried out where grounds existed and form part of our ongoing efforts to disrupt criminal activity and maintain public safety.
Officers also dealt with mopeds being ridden in an anti-social manner, issuing Section 59 warnings to riders whose behaviour was causing concern to residents and members of the public. This action is aimed at reducing dangerous riding and preventing further nuisance and disorder.
In addition, routine patrols of known void properties led to the discovery of cannabis plants and two machetes early on in the shift. These items were seized, and enquiries are ongoing. This highlights the importance of regular checks of vacant premises, which are often targeted for criminal use.
We will continue to maintain a visible presence in hotspot locations, carry out proactive patrols, and take enforcement action where necessary to keep the community safe.
We encourage residents to continue reporting any concerns relating to ASB, drug use, or suspicious activity. Providing as much detail as possible, including locations and times, helps us target our patrols effectively.
Thank you for your continued support
