More arrests as police continue to address Torbay’s community concerns

Police in Torquay have made further arrests this month as part of Operation Harbourlight to disrupt potential drug dealing in the town.

Officers were out and about on Monday 26 January as part of the ongoing initiative, which focuses primarily on the Castle Circus area. Operation Harbourlight began in June 2025 and has had some fantastic results so far. 

Sergeant Neil Powers, from Torquay’s Neighbourhood Police Team, explained: “During this week’s operation three men and a woman were arrested for being concerned in the supply of Class A (Cocaine) and Class B (Cannabis). A large bag of what is believed to be herbal cannabis was located in a small loft area at a property, along with a scattering of suspected cannabis buds in various items of clothing.

“A large quantity of cash was also located along with a mobile telephone and three large plastic tubs containing a residue of white powder.

“We would like to thank the public for their support and remind them that they can hand over information to us and it will be acted upon. We will keep the pressure up and future operations are planned; tackling the supply of illegal drugs is a priority for police teams across Devon and Cornwall.”

Officers believe they are making great strides in their efforts to disrupt drugs lines from other cities and towns in the UK to Torbay – known as county lines.

All four people arrested on 26 January have been interviewed by police and released on conditional bail while further enquiries take place.
