Resident Speed Survey Update – Shifnal
As part of the Parish Council Charter contract, speeding has been identified as a priority concern within the community. In response, officers have today been carrying out speed surveys to support the development of a new Community Speed Watch volunteer group.
Surveys were conducted on Shrewsbury Road, Victoria Road and Park Street in Shifnal.
The average recorded speeds were:
• Shrewsbury Road: 25mph
• Victoria Road: 25mph
• Park Street: 21mph
During these checks, three vehicles were found to be exceeding the speed limit and were dealt with in accordance with police procedures.
Further checks will be carried out over the coming weeks at different times and on different days to build a fuller picture of vehicle speeds across the area.
