Recent Incidents

Hello all,

An update on recent incidents that have happened on the ward.

On the 27th of January an elderly lady who had withdrawn money from Nationwide bank was pushed to the ground by a suspect who had taken £250 off her. 

On the 30th of January we were in the town centre on George St for Op Martello patrols. Whilst off duty, Sergeant Wright walked down George St and had spotted the suspect from the robbery walking into Pret A Manger. Sergeant Wright alerted us to the suspect, which led to the swift arrest of the suspect who had committed this cowardly act.

Today the suspect has been charged with robbery and remanded in police custody.

Some of you may be aware of the aggravated burglary that took place on Paved Court today. This is currently being investigated and officers are still on scene. An abandoned vehicle has been found close to the scene and will be examined for forensics. CCTV and door to door enquiries are currently being looked into.
