Environmental and waste services for the Tipton, Great Bridge and Princes End areas are primarily managed by Sandwell Council. Household Bin Collections Sandwell Council provides the following domestic waste collection services: General Household Waste (grey bin): Collected fortnightly. Mixed Dry Recyclables (blue lid bin/bag): Collected fortnightly on alternate weeks to the grey bin. Food Waste: Collected weekly using a lockable kerbside caddy. Garden Waste: A chargeable fortnightly service that is suspended during winter months. To check your specific collection days, use the online Sandwell Council Bin Day Finder. Household Recycling Centre (The Tip) The nearest Household Recycling Centre (HRC), often referred to as "the tip," is in Oldbury: Location: Sandwell Council Refuse Centre, Shidas Lane, Oldbury, B69 2BP. Hours: 8 am to 4 pm daily (winter hours: 1 October to 31 March; summer hours vary). Booking: All visits require an appointment booked in advance via the Sandwell Council website. You will need to bring proof of address. Specialised Collections & Services Bulky Waste: A service is available for large household items like furniture or fridges for a fee. One free collection per year is available for households with a resident over 60. You can find details and book a collection on the Sandwell Council website or by calling 0121 368 1177. Clinical Waste: A free collection service is available for items like soiled dressings and syringes. To arrange this, contact Serco by emailing sandwellclinicalwaste@serco.com or calling 0121 569 6886.
