Reports of School children being followed

Dear residents,

We have been made aware of several reports of children being followed when walking home from school around the Cheam, North Cheam and Stonecot areas. We are also aware of an image circulating on social media of a potential suspect from one of these reports.

Whilst there are similarities with these reports, they are not all linked. Due to this being an ongoing investigation details can not be shared however one suspect is currently in custody.

Police will be conducting additional reassurance patrols in the area during school start and end times.

Please be responsible with information shared on social media. 

Please also advise you children to be vigilant when walking home and to avoid having their mobile phones on display.
