Welcome to February

The end of another month already, here is the update of my week of work   

I am continuing with the crack down on E-bikes and Scooters. We are in the education process at the moment. I have visited Schools and businesses delivering posters and having a chat. I have also been hand delivering, with help from the team, information cards through doors in certain areas around Oldington, Foley and Sutton Park.

This being said when we have come across people using these items illegally it has been dealt with robustly with a bike being seized on 30/01/2026

PC Perry has assisted me in education and seizing, but someone had to volunteer to be the photographer… I wasn’t quick enough.

I have been out and visited some lovely people this week, but unfortunately they have been victims of hate crime. This is not accepted within West Mercia. People unfortunately think these things are ok to say, IT ISN’T. 

Don’t accept hate comments because you have heard it before and you can shrug it off, report it to the police. If it is a “Friend” or someone in your work group making these comments, to others, challenge the comment and tell them it isn’t right.

I have also been speaking to volunteers at the West Midlands Ambulance Service. They are currently looking at all the defib machines around Wyre Forest and making sure they are registered and known. This is a big task so if we see one we may help them out. We will check if they are registered and who the owners are. If you are the owner of one and happy for the Ambulance Service to have your information then please let me know.

On top of this they are also doing Defib Awareness Sessions for any groups, any ages. If this is something you, or someone you know, are interested in please get in touch with me by replying.  

In the coming weeks we are going to be looking into the safety and welfare of women running and the issues around this. From people I have spoken to this is normally honking of horns and lewd comments. Stand by to hear more on this subject in the weeks to come. I will let you know what we are doing and any events coming up.

Meet the Team

I should be attending a community housing Foley Park, Walk About, on Wednesday 11th February, meeting at Victoria Place. If this is your neighbourhood then please come along and talk to the professionals there about your issues or what they don’t hear so much, things you are happy with.

I wont be able to attend but colleagues will be at Starbucks, Stourport Road, Kidderminster on 09/02/2026 at 2pm. This will be to speak to anyone that wants to talk and answer any questions.

End of another interesting and busy set and month. I will see you all when I am back in on Thursday 5th February 2026. Stay safe and do something fun! You deserve it.
