Car chase and drug arrest |
||
|
On Saturday 31st January officers from the Territorial Support Group (TSG) attempted to stop a vehicle at Hyde Park Corner on suspicion that the driver was involved in the supply of illegal drugs. The driver ignored instructions to stop, reversed into a parked vehicle and then drove at speed through officers in the direction of Victoria. Fortunately no one was seriously injured. The vehicle was later found abandoned in Vincent Square and a quantity of drugs left inside was recovered as was a bag of drugs thrown from it as it sped away from the original stop. The same TSG officers were then able to trace the driver of the vehicle to an address where he was arrested for Attempted GBH, Possession With Intent to Supply, Failure to Stop and Criminal Damage. Two mobile phones thought to be used in criminal activity were also recovered. This latest incident shows our determination to disrupt the supply of illegal drugs in our part of London. It also shows the courage sometimes required when officers confront those responsible. | ||
