Chiswick NPT update |
||
|
Good afternoon,
As always, thank you for being Met Engage members, please continue to encourage your neighbours and communities to sign up.
Through January we have been working hard to reduce offending, we have seen a notable reduction in vehicle crime following proactive work, most commonly we are still seeing cars broken into due to bags being left on display.
Michael Rich who is well known to residents in Chiswick received a 12 week prison sentence for breaching his Criminal Behaviour Order.
Kayleigh Mitchell, a prolific shoplifter in Chiswick who we obtained a CBO for last year was sent to court for shoplifting and breaching her CBO. She received 16 weeks custody.
We became aware of a non residential burglary in Co-Op on Chiswick High Road where four males climbed through the protective screens and stole over £3K worth of cigarettes. PC Storey made CCTV enquiries and was able to identify all four of them. We teamed up with NPT officers from Hillingdon and Ealing to search areas of Southall for the suspects and successfully arrested three of them. We processed, charged and remanded them to court. All three pled guilty at court the next day and were immediately sentenced to 6 months in prison. The 4th suspect is still wanted and will hopefully be joining his associates behind bars soon.
I previously told you about a male who we identified through CCTV for a number of car break ins. Ricky NEWMAN (30 years old from Hammersmith) was sentenced to community and rehabilitation orders as well as being ordered to pay compensation to victims. To address his offending we worked hard to put together and apply for a criminal behaviour order which was granted at court and includes conditions such as- Ricky must NOT- -Enter the London Borough of Hounslow specifically Chiswick as defined on MAP A. Unless attending pre-booked probation/medical appointments, or appointments with Hounslow Council; in which the onus to have written proof on his person at that time is on NEWMAN. -Be in possession of any bag or carry-all containing retail goods with a value of over £50 that are in their original packaging in any public place in England and Wales without proof of purchase having passed the last point of payment. -Be in possession of any documents, identification or bank / credit cards that are not in the name of Ricky NEWMAN without verifiable permission from the owner. -Be in possession of any electronic device that is not registered on www.immobilise.com with proof of ownership. Immobilise is the national property register. -Be in possession of an electric scooter that is not registered with the DVLA either owned or rented. -Be in possession of any pushbike or E- bike that is not registered on www.BikeRegister.com with proof of ownership unless rented in which case proof of hire will be required. Bike register is the national register for pushbikes. -Be in possession of any Glass breakers, hammers or bricks in any public place or vehicle in England and Wales unless it is the property of his registered employer during the course of employment.
In others news, I have been managing the whole of Chiswick NPT alone since I arrived in July 2024. In a slight change we now have Brentford East Ward as part of our cluster to make four Wards and will have a second Sergeant joining us this month. This should help free me to plan more proactive operations across the cluster and gives us additional officers to tackle issues across the whole area.
Many thanks
Sgt O’Donnell 164WA
