A house in St Albans is off‑limits after police and partners successfully secured a full closure order in response to ongoing drug‑related activity and anti‑social behaviour. The order - which prohibits anyone from entering the address in Cyril Way - was granted this morning (Wednesday 4 February) at St Albans Magistrates’ Court. Neighbourhood Policing Teams worked closely with St Albans City and District Council’s Anti‑Social Behaviour Officers following multiple reports from local residents regarding persistent drug use, disorder and nuisance behaviour linked to the property. Neighbourhood PC Ben Kirby said: “No one should have to put up with the anti-social behaviour that is often linked to drugs. We are grateful to residents for letting us know about the problems and, as a result, we were able to quickly get the closure order secured. “We hope this provides some peace to people living nearby and reassure residents that we will do everything we can to prevent and deter anti-social behaviour and criminality from blighting our communities.” Councillor Sarwar Shamsher, Lead for Community Safety for St Albans City and District Council, added: “This was another successful joint operation involving our anti-social behaviour team and the police.
“They acted on complaints from residents who were concerned about activities at the property, and they gained the closure order after carrying out their own investigations. The order will put the property off limits and is a demonstration of our commitment to keeping our communities safe.” Members of the public are encouraged to continue reporting concerns.
