As you will be aware from my previous Smart Alerts this past week, we are experiencing an increase in burglaries, two in Stramshall, one in Rocester and one on the Heath Ward, in the Shipton Drive area of Uttoxeter. Whilst enquiries are going well, and our teams are diligently going through leads, CCTV etc, please be extra vigilant, please make your cars as secure as possible, using immobilisers where possible, Faraday bags for keys can be a good deterrent, if you have CCTV please make sure they are in good working order. Keep house keys and car keys away from from doors and out of view from possible offenders. If you see anything out of the ordinary or suspicious especially in the early hours please ring the Police immediately. The Shipton Drive burglary occurred during day hours. Our neighbourhood officers are patrolling areas of concern. Staffordshire Police are a lot more successful in resolving burglaries than you probably think, with todays technology offenders are often bought to justice.
