Parking
Dear Parents/Guardians, I have recently observed some concerning parking behaviours around Lisvane during the busy pick-up and drop-off times. It seems that a minority of parents are parking in ways that are not only inconsiderate to others but also pose significant safety risks to our children and the wider community. We have received numerous reports regarding instances of parents parking on zig-zag lines, double and single yellow lines, and even on the pavement. Additionally, some vehicles have been seen obstructing driveways, parking too close to junctions, and parking on the bus stop outside the school. This behaviour places children at risk as they walk to and from school and can severely hinder emergency vehicles from passing through the area, creating potentially dangerous situations. Moreover, I must emphasize that we have observed a minority of parents dropping their children off while approaching the zebra crossing, which greatly increases the risk of accidents. It is crucial that we all prioritize safety during these busy times to ensure the well-being of every child. In response to these issues, the Lisvane and Thornhill Neighbourhood Policing Team will be actively monitoring parking in the vicinity of Llysfaen Primary School, who may issue fixed penalty tickets for violations. I kindly urge each of you to show consideration and respect for the safety of our children while parking and dropping off. It is essential that we all work together to create a safe environment around our school, preventing any unfortunate accidents from occurring. Your cooperation in this matter is not only appreciated but vital for the safety of our school community.
Thank you for your attention to this important issue.
