Local police net Goldfish Grabber

Dear Residents, 

I wanted to share a unique good news story with you. 

Yesterday, the team noticed a slightly odd crime had been reported whereby a suspect had stolen a selection of goldfish from Chessington Garden Centre. Through our good working relationship with the garden centre, we secured the evidence on the same day and identified a suspect. 

This morning we attended the suspect's address and upon being confronted with overwhelming evidence, he admitted the theft and showed us to the fish. They then became amongst the strangest items I've ever seized from a suspect. 

Within 24 hours of noting the crime report, the team have reunited the stolen fish with their owner. The suspect has repaid the value of the fish to the garden centre, been banned and issued with a community resolution for the offence of theft. 

The team remains committed to tackling shoplifting in the South of the Borough.
