Ramadan

Ramadan is a month of the Islamic lunar calendar and a sacred period for Muslims worldwide. In 2026, it is expected to take place from the evening of Tue, 17th  Feb – Wed, 19th  March.

It is marked by:

The month concludes with Eid al-Fitr, a major festival celebrating the end of the fast.

We would like to let you know that during Ramadan, we will have dedicated reassurance patrols directed towards the Mosques within our wards.

The Metropolitan Police Services will also be working in conjunction with Tower Hamlets Council on a partnership operation outside East London Mosque.
