Theft of Motor Vehicle

Police are currently investigating a theft of motor vehicle that occurred in Hammondswick, Harpenden overnight between 22:00 on the 08.02.26 and 07:10 today 09.02.26.

Offenders have removed a grey Volvo XC90 form the victims drive by means unknown and made off in an unknown direction.

If you have any information/CCTV relating to this crime please contact Police on the non-emergency number 101, quoting crime number 41/12514/26.

Tips to prevent vehicle crime:

Ensure you lock doors and shut windows/sunroof when leaving your vehicle unattended.

Always remove keys from the ignition when you are not with the vehicle

When parking, remember to set your immobiliser or alarm or use an approved steering lock or gear lever clamp.

Never leave valuables in your vehicle – not even in the glove box or boot – and keep all possessions out of sight – even coats, sunglasses and carrier bags.

Be aware of your keys. Don’t leave them visible on a windowsill or near to your front door, where they could be “hooked” through the letterbox or a keyless signal can be received by relay devices.

If you have a keyless entry car use a signal blocking bag and consider using additional trackers, steering wheel locks or ghost immobilisers.

Store car ownership documents at home, not in your car.
