Dear members of Neighbourhood Watch at the Walthamstow Dog Stadium Development.
I have been in contact with your Neighbourhood Watch scheme administrator, Sarah Chaney, in your estate previously about crime and ASB and in a follow up call this morning, Sarah has informed me that things are much better and that police and council ASB team have been patrolling.
We discussed erecting Neighbourhood Watch signage and bin stickers as a means of warning off potential troublemakers and thieves and Sarah is looking into organising some of these with others in the scheme.
What usually happens is that individuals sponsor the purchase of a pole sign for the street and buy their own individual bin stickers signs for themselves. Pole signs are £5 each and bin stickers are £2 each.
Experience as shown that this early warning signage is successful in deterring some criminals but also gives a general feeling of safety and confidence to people living or visiting an area.
