Joint Partnership with Westminster City Council and Metropolitan Police in tackling illicit trade of unregulated goods

Dear Resident, 

Last week, Westminster City Council Trading Standards Officers, working in partnership with St James' Safer Neighbourhood Officers, carried out enforcement visits at two retail premises in Piccadilly Circus and Leicester Square selling vapes, electrical goods and clothing items such as hats and scarves. During the inspections, officers identified and seized non-compliant goods across both venues with a combined value of £14,109, including: 

This sends a clear message that established trading standards must be followed and that illegal trading will not be tolerated. 

Members of the public are reminded that suspected crime can be reported to the police on 101 or online, anonymously if preferred, to support ongoing enforcement efforts.
