Manor Park Ward Panel - East European Residents. |
||
|
Good morning,
In the last twenty/thirty years there have been significant demographic changes across Europe. For those - like me - who are old enough to remember the Cold War - these changes would have been unthinkable until relatively recently. I have been aware over the past few years of a significant presence on the ward of people from the former communist east. The recent launch of Met. Engage - which has seen my colleague and I knocking on numerous doors across Manor Park - has reinforced this - if anything it has made us realise that we may have underestimated just how significant a presence there is. As such we would like to invite anyone from eastern Europe to attend the next meeting of Manor Park Ward Panel. In case you are not aware - Ward Panels meet four times a year. They are made up of residents from across the Ward who are invited to be a member for a two year period. The Ward Panels offer an opportunity to raise issues and help set police priorities. Members who have joined have often found their involvement has opened doors to other events and meetings and have usually enjoyed their experience.
If you would like to get involved - or would like more information - then please contact me by replying to this message. I will then forward you the date/time and location of the next meeting - due to take place in March 2026. Recognition of the invaluable contribution made by our east European residents has been reflected internally in the Metropolitan Police - there is now a Romanian Police Association, Polish Police association and Slavic Police association. We would very much like these internal developments. to be reflected in the composition of our Ward Panel.
Please get in touch - we would love to hear from you !
