Do You Really Know Who You're Talking To? |
||
|
Hi Resident, It's the most romantic day of the year but, for some, love can turn into a nightmare.
Last year, there were more than 250 reports of romance fraud in Greater Manchester.
In one recent case, a woman in her 50s was conned into investing around £500,000 after meeting a man on a dating app, while another woman, also in her 50s, lost £2,000 after believing she was talking to a well-known soap star.
But you are not alone - if you, or someone you know, has been scammed, please report it and our specialist officers will be on hand to investigate and support you.
If you want to report a fraud or need some advice, please visit Report Fraud - they also have specially trained officers and any reports in Manchester will be referred to our Economic and Cyber Crime Unit 👉Romance fraud - Report Fraud Regards, The Hyde Godley Team
