Crime Alert - Burglary

Dear residents'. 

Humberside Police are investigating reports of attempt burglary dwelling and shed burglary on Stephenson Walk and New village Road Cottingham.  

The incidents occurred over night 12/02/2026 into the 13/02/2026, with the attempt burglaries on Stephenson Walk captured on CCTV at around 0400hrs . The offender(s) have tried the victims door handles but no entry gained. 

Luckily nothing was stolen from the Shed Burglary on New Village road. 

If you have any CCTV footage (including video doorbell), or saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area around this time or have any information about the offenders please contact the police on the non-emergency number 101 quoting occurrence ref: 26000020720 and 26000020506 for Stephenson Walk and 26000020387 for New Village Road. 

Alternatively you could call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. You don’t have to leave your name and you may even receive a reward.

To assist us in identifying stolen property please consider property marking high value items using Forensic Marking or UV pens.  You are also advised to register property at www.immobilise.com which is a free on-line property register used by police forces nationwide to reunite stolen goods to their owners. All you have to do is register on-line and then upload properties electrical items serial numbers.

If you have a burglar alarm ensure it is set and working.
