Speed Enforcement in Whittington

Whittington Residents,

Today, Monday 16th February, the Rural North Safer Neighbourhoods Police Officer completed some activity revolving around one of the Parish Councils priorities. At 09:25am and 10:13am they attended Station Road and Church Street in Whittington where Speed Enforcement was carried out. As a result of these activities four vehicles were recorded as exceeding the speed limit and have been reported for prosecution. 

The penalties for these offences, depending on the speed recorded, varies from a Speed Awareness Course, £100 Fine and 3 Penalty Points, and if largely excessive, a Summons to Court.

Excessive or inappropriate speed has no place on our roads and enforcement activities will continue to take place in locations highlighted by our communities and Parish Councils to tackle the issue and hopefully make our roads safer to travel on.
